The general subject of the text seems to be an account of a litter girl playing with her siblings near a church with their grandmother. The author’s relationship with the topic might be a personal account. The author seems to have a spanish name and the story involves some spanish speaking and references. In the story, the boy makes a reference to world war two but the works cited shows that the story was written in 1991. The claim involved in the story has something to do with fitting in. As a girl in a family with brothers and as a spanish family in the united states. I felt that the purpose of the text was to entertain and to tell a story as told by a little girl. The author tells the story from the perspective of a little girl. The little girl describes the grandmother as “awful.” The author also uses spanish in the story. The tone is light and simple.

My favorite type of text to read is out of books. I find it easier to read out out of a book then off of a computer screen or out of a newspaper. Unfortunately, the text i read most often are article online off of a screen. They are easier to access and you can always find something very specific to what you want to read. School related reading is often boring and dry. The reading i do is usually interesting, comedic or informative. I like to read columns by specific authors because i find that it is easier and more enjoyable to read a more comfortable, relaxed style of writing. When i read i must be in a quiet enviornment. I get distracted very easily and often do not comprehend when there are other things going on while i am trying to read. My favorite book is probably Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. After the first 25 pages i was hooked. The movie they made for the booked sucked in my opinion. I felt that it totally missed the point that the book portrayed. I find there to be a lot of connections between TV and reading. You have to follow different characters and story lines and often have to draw on previous knowledge in order to understand what is happening. I watch too many tv shows to pick a favorite.
